“Well you know what we say: Save the whales!… for dinner.” – Faroe Island Inhabitant
The video below shows a different side of the Faroe’s Grind; the view point from the Faroe’s people themselves. Its an interesting watch to see how the Faroe poeple follow their ancestral viking traditions with their dances, language and unfortunately their whale slaughtering as well.
I’ll let you make up your mind as to whether its right or wrong to be slaughtering the whales for their meat, to see an view against the Faroe “Grind” please read a post I shared a while ago written by Captain Paul Watson, Sea Shepherd’s founder and also a major opposer to the “Grind” (or “Grindacrap” as it has been nicknamed). You can read this here. If you’re interested in taking a look at the Japanese Government’s viewpoint of whaling you can read more here.
Please leave any thoughts or comments below, I would be interested to hear your opinions on this controversial topic!
And if you’ve got a spare few minutes I would also be very grateful if you could complete my survey about nitrogen here! Thank you very much! 😀
