Amazing 8 Year Old Scuba Diver!

‘From a very early age, I had to interrupt my education to go to school’ George Bernard Shaw

A little while back Steve Martin dived with an eight year old boy (Leo) who had even some of the best divers in the world surprised at his ability, consequently Steve made a video with Leo, posted it on YouTube then shared it on his fan page for all the world to see:

Leo is the son of a very close friend of mine (Peter). Leo is eight years old and has already completed over 100 open water dives and spends his summer holidays diving with some of the top divers in the world (Steve Martin and his dad definitely being two of them!). Leo constantly continues to amaze divers whenever friends or family share footage of his diving skills and also inspires divers to improve their diving techniques and most importantly: never stop having fun!

Every single time I watch the video above it makes me smile, to be so young and to be so talented already just goes to show that anything is possible if you put your mind to it!

I feel quite lucky as I have met Leo once before and he is honestly a great kid with a big heart and a passion for many, many things (diving and the sea definitely included!)… I look forward to diving with Leo in future and maybe even learning a thing or two from him!

Needless to say if Leo continues to dive at this level he will easily become one of the best divers in the business! And I can’t wait to see what he is able to do in the future as a commenter on YouTube put it: “WOW, can you imagine the kind of frog this tadpole will become?”
